Move-out cleaning in Atherton: the closet check

If you are handing over a home in Atherton, the last things people clean are usually the first things a new owner opens.

If you are handing over a home in Atherton, the last things people clean are usually the first things a new owner opens. Closets, pantry shelves and the cabinet under the kitchen sink all collect dust and stray crumbs that nobody sees while the furniture is still in place.

Our routine for a move-out starts with those spots once the rooms are empty. With nothing in the way, a shelf can be wiped end to end, and the floor underneath gets a proper pass instead of a quick sweep around boxes.

A small habit that helps: open every door and drawer before you start, not after. Cabinets, built-ins and the inside of the oven often hide the work that is easy to miss when you are rushing to finish packing.

Moving is a long list of tasks, and the cleaning does not need to be the one that keeps you up at night. Starting from the inside and working out toward the front door keeps things tidy, because dust falls down and out, and you are not walking over a floor you already finished.
